Come on, Mr T. The whole second panel is one giant speech bubble. Do you always have to use the four panels? Couldn’t you switch it around a bit to make big speeches easier to digest and more fun to look at?
My primary objective is to tell the story. Making it look pretty is secondary, especially when I’m on a time crunch and I have readers waiting for the story to continue. I would have loved to have done something different with the second panel (and I did try, believe it or not), but in the end, when a deadline looms, I have to do what I need to get the strip out.
