@Pete, kclantern1984, and Nam, Does that have anything to do with it?

“I was just on (yet another) archive binge when I spotted something: this new Francis looks a bit like one of the doo-to-door-somethings (I could guess what they are, but I suppose you left it vague for a reason) that โvisitedโ over the summer. The strip in question is dated 10-14-2010. The door that was knocked on that day also had a 42 by it.”
It’s a chromatic thing. Similar to why Spock was given a green-ish tinge in the original series. Roddenberry originally wanted to give Spock a red-ish tinge, but the studio was afraid it would make him look like a demon. Roddenberry accepted their argument that red would turn to dark on a black and white set, so they went with green. In black and white it just made him pale, and in color it made him just different enough to look alien.

@Mikey Z: 42 is a reference to/joke from “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”. Finding it here is like finding a “Firefly” joke in ABC’s “Castle”. Usually they are not plot relevant, just amusing to those who can spot them. Merrit, on the other hand, might be important.
And yes, I archive binge alot. This comic is so much fun. The ONLY problem with it is that there is so little of it. I want more! I am also a fast enough reader that it only takes me a day to read the whole archive.
I’ll be working hard this summer to try to get myself up to two updates a week. I can’t make any promises, but with the new living arrangements, it’s very possible.
Well, There goes his hope to summon Francis to get him out of that mess…
…. and it was such a good idea. At least there\’s cookies, so it\’s not a total loss.
Gah! He even LOOKS like a T.A.
Well okay then.
Room 42? Did anyone bring a towel?
And Merrit’s is across the hall. I wonder what she teaches here.
I was hoping somebody would pick up on that. ๐
Which? 42 or Merrit?
Both, actually, but I was referring to the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything.

so…..red skin as a demon=african american as a human…..why is it that that makes sense to me?

Just linking for reference: http://www.bardsworth.com/?p=648
I hadn’t caught Merrit’s name on the door there! I wonder if we’ll see her.
Mickey Z: I don’t think so. I was just curious about the reference and had to find it. ๐
*Mikey. D’oh.

Cool, but there is no need to rush. I was just noting how much I love the comic, not trying to add pressure.
This page made me laugh out loud!
