No comments yet? Weird. Especially since you’re advertising some BOOK in the last panel…which I have yet to figure out which one it may be, GRRR! I oughtta know…
Dragonlance Chronicles Volume 1. Cover is by Larry Elmore, which is the only reason I knew it was a Dragonlance “novel”. Once I knew that it was fairly easy to figure out.
They do not. It was just a nod to one of the books that got me hooked into the fantasy genre when I was a kid. I reread the “Dragonlance” books multiple times growing up. They were my “Lord of the Rings” (which I never actually read… please put the pitchforks down).
Incidentally, while you can’t actually read the title very well, the book that Mike is reading in this strip – http://www.bardsworth.com/?comic=what-are-you-plotting – is “A Spell For Chameleon”, another book from my early origins within the fantasy realm.

I was thinking the exact same thing… I recognize the book, but can’t identify it.
Doh! As soon as I posted that I realized what it is – Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight. Great book (great series really)

Drat! that was supposed to be a reply to Bezman. Stupid Captcha!
I am really sorry about the Captcha thing. I have it on my long-term goal list to find a better spam fighting thing.
Thanks guys, nice to know.
Do they, by any chance, “blame a guy from a different world” in that book? 🙂
