Jitter juice is the exact opposite of what should be given to bards.

Because cookies are awesome… Any other reason you can think of is just icing on top. 😉

Why does he even have that job even though he has NO IDEA how to handle it? If he burned himself that badly he would’ve quit. If he broke several mugs that would get him fired. Especially if he hands back the wrong change.

All right, I don’t usually feel that I need to explain what happens in my comic, but since this question has come up twice now, and since you seem so adamant about the issue, here we go.

Mike took the job because Keira mentioned a while back that Inspiration was hiring. Mike needed the job right away because he needs to pay back Kellen, and was sure – and was right – that he’d be hired for the job, since it’s run by a bunch of bards anyway.

As for what’s happened to him: Burning yourself isn’t enough to make you quit a job. I worked at McDonald’s for 2 years in high school and burned myself multiple times (and obviously he hasn’t burned himself too badly, otherwise he’d be wearing a dressing, and since I didn’t draw him with one, you can take my word on that). As for the breaking mugs and wrong change thing – again, he’s working for bards. Do they seem like the uptight kind? And do you think they obviously haven’t dealt with those types of things before?

      tl;dr – Don’t argue with the writer.

        Hey Pete! Septirath here.
I understand it must be frustrating to constantly see stuff like this that seems like people don’t understand your work, I know how that feels. Believe me, I feel it enough.

I do, however, personally know Ninkybug, and I can tell you that he’s rather young and gets kind of confused on these sorts of things. It’s a bit like having a problem with reading comprehension, but he would be able to tell you anything and everything that happened over the course of Bardsworth, in order. He just has a problem with, for lack of a better to put it, motivational understanding. He doesn’t quite get whyit would happen or why it wouldn’t.

So just for future reference, please refrain from writing double paragraphs berating Ninkybug for “arguing with the writer”.

        Oh yeah.

He wasn’t arguing with you, by the way. He just had a question about the comic. So instead of writing a page of berating him, just answer the question.

tl;dr — answer a question when it’s asked and don’t treat everyone like idiots.

You’re absolutely right, and I owe both Ninkybug and you an apology for my reaction to comment.

As an explanation, though not an excuse, of said reaction, I have gotten readers before who have questioned literally EVERYTHING I’ve done in the comic because they don’t agree with it, and after a while it does get under my skin. Again, an explanation, but not an excuse.

Thank you for the reality check and I’ll be sure to keep my knee-jerk reactions under control.
