Life has gotten complicated for the magic-using detective, Rick Walker. Hiding from it all behind bottles of Scotch, he finally emerges to take on a case for an old acquaintance. But the case may turn out to be his deadliest yet.

With the help of an odd assortment of companions, Rick confronts his demons, both figurative and literal. With surprises around every corner and danger lurking in the shadows, Rick might need more than his charm to get out of this one alive.

This is my best story to date and I’m really proud of it.  I have to warn you, though – it’s much darker and more adult than Bardsworth (strong language, adult situations, etc.).  But if you’re interested, you can pick it up through Amazon for your Kindle, or as one of a number of digital formats from Smashwords.

However, as of the end of this Friday, things will be changing. I have recently been coming into some more freelance work, and between that and several other income streams, we decided to have me put in my two-weeks notice. I did that last week, which means that this Friday will be my last night vacuuming up after people who don’t know how to eat at their desks neatly.

So what does that mean for you, my loyal Bardsworth readers? It means a few things. First and foremost, I’ve decided that with the extra time I’ll have to dedicate on projects, I am going to knuckle down finally get the second Bardsworth print edition done. It’s been far too long since the first one came out, and I owe it to you folks. So that’ll be my first major project.

The second, which you’ll know if you follow me over at my writing blog, will be the first Bardsworth novel. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, and I’ve decided that it’s the next book I’ll be working towards releasing.

Exciting times are ahead!
