Mike Cosley is a freshman majoring in Wizardly Studies at the prestigious Bardsworth University. He also happens to be from another world. And in this new world, he finds himself amidst an interesting mix of folks. There's the cute but temperamental fairy, Fawn. There's his bookworm of a roommate, Kris. There's the beautiful elf girl, Crystal. And there's the dangerously energetic bard student, Keira.

But while Mike meets new friends and accumulates homework, a mysterious confrontation takes place between Fitzpot Fizzlebottom, the wizard who brought Mike to this world, and a shadowy figure named Rayner. Why is Rayner so interested in Mike? What is he plotting?
